Changing The Shape And/Or Appearance Of Your Teeth

If your teeth have a unique shape to them that you aren't happy about or they have other problems, such as gaps or crookedness, then you can have the problem taken care of with the help of your dentist. Here are a few examples of common problems and some of the options your dentist may present you with to take care of the issues:

You have a few crooked teeth

If you have a few crooked teeth then you may not feel like it is worth having braces put on just for those teeth. In this case, clear aligners may be the better option. They will take longer to straighten your teeth, but they are easier on you. Or, you may do well by having porcelain veneers put on some of your teeth if it can be done. Since this would require your teeth to be brought down in size, it may not always be an option.

You have many crooked teeth

If you have a lot of teeth that are crooked then you may do best by going ahead with having braces put on your teeth. They will be your best bet at getting yourself a fantastic looking straight smile. Consider looking for more information about braces for adults.

You have an odd tooth

If you have one tooth that looks different then the dentist may be able to hand craft some bonding to make the tooth match the rest. Or, they may want to go with a crown or veneer.

You have an extra tooth

Sometimes it happens where a person can have an extra tooth come in that causes problems. The dentist will more than likely suggest removing this tooth, but there may then be other treatments needed if pulling that tooth has left you with extra spacing.

You have some gaps

If you have large gaps between all your teeth, then you are probably a pretty good candidate for a variety of options like braces, aligners, veneers or others. If you only have gaps between a few teeth then it's probably going to be a lot easier for you to go with veneers since they will focus on just the teeth in need of correcting and they offer the correction with just a couple of simple visits to your dentist.

You have stained teeth

If you have stained teeth then the best thing for you to do is to seek whitening from your dentist. Using the whitening products from the store won't give you the results you want and it can lead to white spots on some of your teeth. When the dentist or their staff whiten your teeth, they select a method they feel will be best for your teeth which may include tray bleaching or even laser treatments.

You are missing a tooth

If you are missing a tooth then you want to have it replaced. Some options include a bridge, an implant or partial dentures. You may or may not be a good candidate for some or all of these methods, so your dentist will recommend the ones they feel fit your situation.
